Identifying Problems with Your Transmission

0

Taking care of your transmission is critical to extending the life of your car. But even with the utmost care and concern, you may still experience transmission problems in some cases. Catching the problem early is essential to repairing the problem before it becomes a major expense. Here are some early warning signs to look for.

Leaks
Transmission fluid is reddish in color. If you see some reddish spots on the driveway underneath your car, there is a good chance you have a transmission fluid leak. Check the levels and immediately refill the reservoir if it is low to ensure that the transmission has enough fluid for operating the vehicle. Then get it to you mechanic to fix the leak as soon as possible.

Vibrations and Noises
If you hear weird noises or feel vibrations, there is a good chance your transmission fluid is low. It could also be a sign of something else going wrong with your transmission. Get it checked out as soon as possible to avoid any further damage.

Overheating
If you notice your transmission is overheating or running hot, it could become damaged before long. Get it checked before it overheats too much and needs to be completely replaced.

If you have any questions or concerns about your transmission or other parts, bring it to the service garage at your Missouri Toyota dealer for a complete and thorough checkup.
